The National Office for Equipment and Accessories for Disabled People (ONAAPH) has launched a manual wheelchair assembly operation at its production unit in El Kala, in the wilaya (province) of El Tarf. This initiative forms part of the ONAAPH's modernization and decentralization strategy, aimed at strengthening production capacity and improving the availability of mobility aids throughout the national territory.
The operation will make it possible to respond to growing demand from beneficiaries in the eastern wilayas, while easing the production burden on the Tigzirt unit. It will also help reduce delivery times, improve the regional distribution of services, and optimize working conditions within the unit through the introduction of modern equipment.
This experiment will be progressively extended to the western and southern regions, within the framework of a comprehensive plan to ensure balanced national coverage in the manufacture and distribution of mobility aids. Through this project, the ONAAPH reaffirms its commitment to modernizing its production units and improving the quality of public service for the benefit of persons with specific needs.
